1 – Commercial Building Codes are quite different from Residential Codes and a good contractor will know them. I think commercial codes are more restrictive than residential codes due in large part to the number of employees or patrons evident at the site at any given time.

2 – Commercial building materials are also different, ranging from steel studs to 5/8″ gypsum or abuse resistant dry wall, commercial cabinets, fire suppression, etc.

3 – A good commercial builder will be very aware of the importance of getting a client into a building ASAP so that client can begin to generate revenue. Along the same line, good commercial builders will work at nights and weekends to keep the client open and operating.
